Republican Meetings in Woodstock, Union and Marengo Thursday, Friday and Monday, Respectively

It’s getting about the time normal folks start thinking more seriously about elections.

That probably doesn’t include many people reading McHenry County Blog, but, just in case you know any, the following information might be of interest.

District 6 GOP County Board candidate Diane Evertsen is holding what might be called “Meet and Greets” for herself and State Rep. candidate John O’Neill, the man putting up a surprisingly vigorous campaign against six-term State Rep. Jack Franks (D-Marengo).

O’Neill and Evertsen will be at Deeter’s Restaurant on Route 14 northwest of Woodstock tonight from 5-8.

Voters are invited to stop in for free appetizers, coffee, soft drinks and talk not only there, but at Donley’s in Union on Friday night from 5-8.

Monday, October 18th, the road show will move to Marengo at the Glo-Bowl at (here’s irony) 101 Franks Road (Route 20) also from 5-8.

Jason Plummer, the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, will join O’Neill and Evertsen for Monday’s event.

My source in Wonder Lake gave me Evertsen’s mailing last weekend, but I didn’t examine it until today.

There was also a meeting Tuesday at Crandall’s Restaurant in Hebron.

  1. I am interested in meeting O’Neil and finding out why he voted against taking a federal grant to put more people to work at the McHenry Library.

  2. That’s what the Meet & Greets are all about – a great opportunity for people to come out and ask questions face to face.

I look forward to having you with us.

  3. If Everetsen wins will she still have time for Linda Moore? Diane video tapes Grafton Township meetings.
