Zane Seipler: You Can Stand Me Up at the Gates of Hell, But I Won’t Back Down

By now you probably know that McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren is appealing his loss of in McHenry County Court at the hands of Associate Judge Thomas Meyer.

Hey, it’s other people’s money that’s paying the lawyer’s bill. We McHenry County taxpayers are the other people, of course.

On his blog is posted this Johnny Cash song:

“You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won’t back down,” sings Johnny Cash on Zane Seiper’s blog McHenry County Sheriff’s Department Exposed.

“I know what’s right. I’ve got just one life. In a world that keeps on pushing me around, but I’ll stand my ground. And I won’t back down…

He also has a song which starts, “And I heard as it were the noise of thunder. One of the four beasts saying, ‘Come and see. A white horse.”

Then the song begins,

“There’s a man going around taking names. And he decides who to free and who to blame…Everyone won’t be treated the same.”

As the lawyers say in court, “It speaks to ‘state of mind.'”

There’s a more recent post and others promised before the election.

  1. “When the Man Comes Around” is about the Second Coming. GREAT song!

  2. Sorry, not that this case really means anything to anyone, but who is supporting Mr. Seipler with funds to continue this fight for a job that he’s never going to take, even if it is offered to him? I cannot imagine anyone on the department wanting to work with him again-give him his back pay and send him home to Mommy

  3. It is a little scary considering what this guy did how he paints himself as such a victim. The girl in the passenger seat was “speeding”? Really? But we are suppose to believe him now?
