Environmental Mixer in Crystal Lake Wednesday

Environmentalists are meeting in Crystal Lake Wednesday, according to the press release below:

GREEN DRINKS McHENRY COUNTY MONTHLY EVENT ON FEBRUARY 2

CRYSTAL LAKE – In McHenry County, the first Wednesday of each month is Green Wednesday!

The McHenry County Green Drinks group will gather on February 2nd, from 5 – 7 pm. upstairs at Duke’s Alehouse & Kitchen, 110 N Main Street in Crystal Lake.

Everyone is invited to make new connections, learn new environmental information, and have fun.

Preset drink menu includes fun, food and friends, info and inspiration, business and pleasure.

Come talk about “greening” the future with others. Must be 21 to purchase alcohol – non-alcoholic drinks are available, of course!

An information table will be set up, and you are welcome to bring information about your green products, services, and organizations each month to share.

Take this opportunity to learn about community supported agriculture (CSAs).

CSAs help support our local farmers, and are often utilized by folks who don’t have the opportunity to garden where they live.

Come hear Pat Inman, Senior Research Associate at the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University, working in the area of sustainable and local food policy.

She has also served on the board for the Woodstock Farmers’ Market, and is active in our community.

Pat will share with us what CSAs are, the benefits of being part of one and how to find the CSA that works best for you.

Additional parking is available at the train station.

  1. “Senior Research Associate at the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University, working in the area of sustainable and local food policy”

More government funding of euro-style socialism activities.

Illinois Democrats ignore the law that requires a balanced budget by the state, important enough to be in the Illinois constitution and we need to spend taxpayer money on research on “governmental studies.” Sure.
