Senator Pam Althoff

McHenry, Ill – State Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) has been given new responsibilities, after being elevated to the Illinois Senate Republican leadership team.

Althoff will serve as the Minority Caucus Whip, a position responsible for rallying members for floor votes and ensuring the Republican Caucus is fairly represented in the Illinois Senate. The new position will come without additional compensation or cost to taxpayers.

“I am very excited to have Pam on my leadership team. She is a bright, hard working legislator who has represented her area with distinction since becoming senator. She will be a real asset to our caucus as we move forward in tackling the tough fiscal and economic problems facing our state,”

said Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont).

“It’s an honor to take this new role within the Republican Caucus,” Althoff said.

“These are very difficult times for our state, and it’s going to require all of us to come together in addressing the tough issues.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate Republican leadership in tackling these challenges head on, and in advancing our agenda of budgetary discipline and economic opportunity for Illinoisans.”

In addition to her role as Caucus Whip, Althoff also serves as Spokesperson on the Senate Appropriations committee, as well as a member of the Human Services, Labor, Local Government and Licensed Activities committees and the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

  1. Clearly as excellent choice.

I believe Senator Althoff and Mike Tryon both, are representative of what the people of all jurisdictions need.

“Common sense legislators who vote the conscious of those they represent.”

I’m looking for big thing’s to come for Sen. Althoff and State Representative Mike Tryon in the future.

U.S. Senator Pam Althoff and U.S. Congressman Mike Tryon?

Thank you Sen. Althoff! Enjoy your new assignment.

  2. Dear Senator Pam Althoff.

Please do not vote for any legislation that negatively affects the pension of retired teachers or the pension of our colleagues still working in the classroom! Please do not vote for any action that negatively impacts TRS. Please work with the professional organization Illinois Retired Teachers Association and my union – THE IEA — on any pension bill this spring. Please — no 24-hour “stealth legislative actions!” Pensions are a “deal breaker” for me and for all teachers in Illinois. Please do not vote against the teachers of Illinois.

Sincerely, Olena Ostapchuk, 11274 Heatherdale Ln., Huntley, Illinois
