It occurred to me last week that it was time to ask what had happened that investigation by the Huntley Police Department of Grafton Township Supervisor Linda Moore.
“The investigation of Linda Moore is closed.”
That was the word from John Perkins when I asked.
Double-checking with McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi, here is the response I received,
“Our office worked with the Huntley police department and concluded our inquiry at the same time they closed their file.
A criminal investigation of Township Supervisor Linda Moore was discussed at a March 2010 Grafton Township Meeting.
There are several billings by then-Township Attorney Keri-Lyn Krafthefer of Ancel Glink during April, 2010, while the Trustees were actively trying to usurp the Supervisor’s authority. Both the Huntley Police Department and the McHenry County State’s Attorney are mentioned as being contacted in the invoice.
A closed investigation is not an indication of legal (let alone moral) innocense. It is merely an indication of insufficient available evidence.
