Algonquin-LITH FPD Seeks Trustee Applicants

A press release from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District:

Trustee Opening

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Trustee Barb Read at the June 8, 2011 meeting.

The fire station at the corner of Algonquin and Pyott Roads.

In a May 31stemail to the Board, Trustee Read resigned her position.

She stated she was “honored to have been associated with the Fire Protection Districtfor the past two (2) years and have been extremely impressed with the dedication and professionalism of the entire staff”.

Trustee Read was elected to the Board in April 2009. Her six-year term expires in April 2015.

The Board of Trustees desire to fill the vacant position as soon as possible.

Interested residents of the Fire District should submit a Letter of Interest and Resume to “Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Attention Board of Trustees”. Letters and resumes will be accepted through July 1, 2011.

The Board will appoint a trustee that will serve through April 2013, at which time a replacement trustee will be elected during the scheduled General Election.

  1. The next Algonquin-LITH FPD Trustee meeting is an open meeting (open to the public), at 7PM this coming Wed June 22nd at the Headquarters Fire Station, 1020 West Algonquin Road, Lake in the Hills.

    It’s interesting to attend Board meetings (fire, school, county, etc.) to learn the issues confronting the organization and learn how your taxpayer dollars are being spent.

    You are entitled to attend an open Board meeting for any reason or no reason at all. Many Board meetings have a few regular members of the public that attend, several have none.
