From all over North Central Illinois, Tea Party folks will converge on Marinelli Field for a minor league baseball game on Saturday night.
The Rockford Forestors are sponsoring Tea Party Day at the July 9th Baseball game on 15th St.
They will feature
- Congressmen Bobby Schilling who will be vying to represent Half of Rockford in the new 17th Congressional District and
- Congressmen Joe Walsh the current Congressmen from the 8th Congressional District.
As McHenry Countians know Walsh was the big upset winner over left winger Melissa Bean.
Each will have a few minutes to address the Tea Party and baseball Fans at 5 pm and then have a home run hitting contest.
Then comes some college league baseball and lots of exchanging of stories and plans around the concession stand.
The majority interest in the Forestors is owned by Algonquin Library Board member Joe Stafani, who is a potential candidate for state representative against Kent Gaffney.
Teabaglicans and baseball Let me guess, they will show the score by burning a cross every time there is a run, right?
I had not heard of this event.
I THOUGHT THE BASEBALL COLOR BARRIER WAS BROKEN BY JACKIE ROBINSON IN THE 40’S. LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE RE-ESTABLISHED AT THIS GAME IN ROCKFORD.
Good reason to stay out of Rockford on Saturday night.
