Cary Grade School Board Member Chris Jenner to Speak at Patriots United MCC Meeting Thursday Night

This email about tonight’s Patriots United meeting on Education Reform contains some details about the impasse between the Cary Grade School Board and its teachers union.:

RE: Important information from Patriots United – Education Reform panel discussion this Thursday

Dear Fellow Patriot:

Public education has been a hot button issue all year long; over and over we are seeing the same story:

Teacher’s UNIONS and school ADMINISTRATORS focus on themselves instead of the students.

Chris Jenner fighting a Cary TIF District.

The situation in Cary District 26 is a perfect example.

The teacher’s union is fighting hard for a contract that would continue to award teachers

  • 6 percent raises for the four years preceding retirement, and then
  • a “retirement bonus” of $20,000 on top of that!

How can they justify this when the district is so deep in debt?

They have already closed one school and another school closure is being considered; talk about priorities out of whack!

Given the magnitude of the situation, we feel that an event at this time might be helpful to local residents who have been following the story and have questions.

Because attendance can be unpredictable during the summer months, I wondered if you could help to highlight the upcoming event by passing the word to anyone you think might be interested. Please forward this E-mail and/or this link (click here) to others. Specific details for the event as well as a list of panel members are as follows:

Event details:
