Randy Hultgren Prepares to Announce for Re-Election in 14th District

A “Dear Friend” email just arrived in which 14th District Congressman Randy Hultgren announces he is preparing to announce his campaign for re-election.

The 14th District now includes all of McHenry County except Algonquin Township. Congressman Joe Walsh now lives in the 14th District.

The email follows:

After his speech at Mike Tryon's Huntley Fish Boil, Randy Hultgren chatted with Robert King of Nunda Township.

Last November you were a part of an incredible movement, as voters from across the country joined together to reject the liberal policies of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and elect the largest group of freshman to Congress in more than three decades.

I knew then, just as I know now, that we were sent to Washington on a mission. We were sent to put an end to the out-of-control spending, massive borrowing, and immediately reduce the size and scope of the federal government.

We’ve had great progress in our first eight months. We’ve been successful in completely changing the debate in Washington from “how big can they grow government” to “how much can we cut.” But our work isn’t finished.

Government spends, borrows and taxes too much, and millions of Americans are still out of work. We owe it to our kids and grandkids to turn this around and leave them a better country than what we were given.

To do this, I need your help.

Before I make my formal announcement, I wanted to let you know that I am officially running for re-election to Congress in the 14th District of Illinois.

While we aren’t certain what the final Congressional district boundaries will look like, it would be an honor and a privilege to represent the people of the 14th District for a second term.

I hope that I’ve lived up to the promises I made to you last fall and that you have been proud of the way I’ve represented you so far in Washington.

Many challenges lay ahead, but I’m optimistic that together we can turn our country around.

Look for more information coming soon about a more formal announcement of my re-election campaign.

Thank you for your support in the past and I hope to have your support in the future.

In service,

Randy Hultgren
Member of Congress
