Kathy Keefe Running for Re-Election as Circuit Clerk

The letter with re-election petitions came in the mail to Republican Precinct Committeemen Tuesday.

Katherine Keefe

Katherine Keefe is running for a second term as McHenry County Circuit Clerk.

Unopposed in both the GOP primary and general elections in 2008, there are no rumors I’ve picked up of any challenge this time around.

In her letter, she offers the following highlights of her first time:

  • Successful completion of state-of-the-art case management system project
  • Reduced staff by attrition to assist with balancing County’s budget, saving over $211,000 annually
  • Worked with State’s Attorney and collection agency to collect an addition $350,000 in fines and fees for the County and municipalities
  • Made public court records available online to improve customer service & increase transparency
  • Implemented electronic Order of Protection system to assist victims of domestic violence.

Keefe worked in the office for twenty years before her first election,

She attended Crystal Lake elementary schools and graduated from Harvard High School in 1983. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University in 1987 and a Master’s degree in Management from Webster University in 2002.

She has been a GOP precinct committeeman for ten years.

Keefe has been married to Pat for 24 y ears and has a 16-year old daughter Hailey.

As you can see from this article:

“Katherine Keefe Secure in Her Identity,”

the Circuit Clerk is not your typical public official.

Take a look and see if you don’t agree.
