John O’Neill Withdraws from County Board Race

A press release from John O’Neill, McHenry Grade School and Library Board member, plus Jack Franks’ Republican 2010 general election opponent:

John O’Neill Withdraws Candidacy for McHenry County Board

John O'Neill

McHenry, IL – I am formally announcing my withdrawal as a candidate for McHenry County Board in the 2012 election cycle.

It has been a gut-wrenching decision but after discussing the issue with family and friends and much time spent in prayer I have come to the conclusion that this is not the season in my life to run for office, now is not my time; I need to focus on family and business.

My passion for better government has not diminished; I will be working with a few candidates during the upcoming campaign season and am working toward being in a better position to positively impact the lives of the hard working men and women of McHenry County in the future.

I want to thank my wife Basia, our children, our fantastic campaign team, all of the good folks who have supported this and previous campaigns, as well as the McHenry County Republican Party, and GOP Chairman and State Representative Michael Tryon as well as numerous other individuals and groups throughout McHenry County.
