Under the mew congressional map, the 6th District covers McHenry County’s Algonquin Township and points south and southeast all the way to Wheaton and, maybe, beyond.
The Rick Santorum campaign has released the petition for Presidential Convention Delegates and Alternates on the internet for the 6th. You can find it here.
These are the 6th District Delegate candidates:
- Todd Hartwell – Elgin
- Robert N. Tiballi – Elgin
- Edward Novak – Bartlett
These are the 6th District alternates:
- Michael Howard – Palatine
- Rusty Popp – Wheaton
- Susan Ejzak – Palatine
None are from McHenry County, but these are the folks who will be on the ballot, if they get enough signatures by the deadline of Friday, January 6th.
In the 8th District, the candidates’ for Delegate are
- Michael Machlet – Schaumburg
- David J. Rickert – Elgin
- John Schmitz – Bloomingdale
Alternate Delegate candidates in the 8th are
- Greg Bare – Hoffman Estates
- Letitia Reeks – Streamwood
- Ed Southwell – Elgin
In the 10th District the Delegate candidates are
- Tony Raymond – Lake Villa
- Bonnie Quirke – Libertyville
- Dan Sugrue – Green Oaks

In his post on the Illinois Santorum web site Thursday, Jon Zahm relays encouraging news for his candidate out of Iowa:
- Romney – 25%
- Paul – 22%
- Santorum – 16%
- Gingrich – 14%
- Perry – 11%
- Bachmann – 9%
