Bonnie Quirke Receives Henry Hyde Celebrating Life Award

WOODSTOCK, IL – Patriots United announced today that Bonnie Quirke will be the 2012 recipient of the Henry Hyde Celebrating Life Award. The award will be presented at Building Bridges for Life, the 3rd Annual Celebration of Life Unity Breakfast, on February 4th.

“We received nominations for a number of deserving individuals, all champions for life. But Bonnie was the overwhelming choice by our committee due to her unwavering dedication to the cause of life, her unique effectiveness at promoting pro-life causes and leaders, and her pragmatic approach in ensuring the cause is moved forward no matter the situation,” said Irene Napier, who headed up the selection committee. Napier was the inaugural recipient of the award in 2011.

Quirke was an ICU RN at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and served on their hospital ethics committee.

She also serves as the President of the Cook Memorial Library District. Bonnie co-founded Lake County Right to Life in 1974.

In addition, she has been on the Board of the Illinois Federation of Right to Life since 1984, serving as Congressional District 10 Director as well as past President.

She lives in Libertyville with her husband, Jim; they are the proud parents of six children and thirteen grandchildren.

[Both Bonnie and Jim Quirke are also on Presidential candidate Rick Santorum GOP National Convention delegate slate in the 10th Congressional District.]

“When we created this annual award to be given out at our Unity Event, we envisioned the recipient being someone who not only led on pro-life issues, but also inspired others to get involved and take up the flag,” said Brian Kelly, Chairman of Patriots United.

“Bonnie has done this year in and year out to so little fanfare, and we’re proud to be able to present her with this well-deserved recognition.

“We know she will continue to be an ambassador for the cause and inspire others to do the same.”

Building Bridges for Life, the 3rd Annual Celebration of Life Unity Breakfast hosted by Patriots United is on Saturday, February 4th, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at D’Andrea Banquets & Conference Center in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here, or you may call Bill and Anita at 815-978-5762.
