2012 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING

McHENRY COUNTY

The McHenry County Department of Planning and Development – Community Development Division is hereby issuing notice that the County plans to have an estimated allocation of $985,000.00 (nine-hundred eighty-five thousand dollars and zero/cents) in funds for the 2012 Community Development Block Grant available for competitive allocation.

Please contact the Community Development Division at 815-334-4560 or via e-mail at McHenryCountyComDev@co.mchenry.il.us for details related to the allocation and application submittal requirements.  The application period will begin February 6, 2012 and run through March 30, 2012 at 4:00PM.  Applications will be available in the Community Development Division office, McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock, IL 60098 Suite 207, or online at http://www.co.mchenry.il.us/departments/CommDev/Pages/HUDProgramsandApplications.aspx

  1. This money is not “free.”

    It came with the string attached that the county has to build a lot more Section 8 housing.

    I wish we could return it to slow the continued influx of the welfare recipients, but we can’t–the board has already sold our souls.
