Kane County Republican Central Committee Gets More Power

With the announcement by Kane County Regional Superintendent of Schools Doug Johnson’s retirement March 1st, the Kane County Republican Party has gotten some power.

While the Kane County Board will appoint an interim Regional Superintendent of Education, the Central Committee decides who will be on the fall ballot for the last two year’s of term.

The same conditions would apply should McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren decide to resign before August 1, 2012 (28 months before the 2014 election). If Nygren resigned after that date, the McHenry County Board would make an interim appointment.
