Does it matter?

Guess we won’t know until after the polls close.

Here’s Manzullo’s latest press release about his latest TV ad:

Latest TV Ad Explores Kinzinger’s Record of Reckless Spending

[ROCKFORD] – Congressman Don Manzullo unveiled his latest TV ad today that highlights his opponent’s record of reckless spending and confirms Manzullo is the only candidate in the race serious about cutting wasteful Washington spending, balancing the budget, and paying down the national debt.

The ad, entitled “Not Much Different than a Democrat,” explores several reckless votes Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) took last year with Nancy Pelosi and other prominent Democrats to increase spending instead of joining with Republicans to cut spending. As a result, National Journal rated Kinzinger much closer to the Democrat he unseated, Debbie Halvorson, than Manzullo.

In addition to National Journal, several conservative groups recently issued their 2011 ratings that show Manzullo votes much more often to cut spending. Those ratings include:

  • American Conservative Union lifetime scores: Manzullo 96, Kinzinger 72.
  • Club for Growth: Manzullo 85, Kinzinger 56.
  • Heritage Action for America: Manzullo 84, Kinzinger 63.
  • Americans for Prosperity: Manzullo A+, Kinzinger B.

The vote ratings also confirm why Manzullo has received all the endorsements from the major national and statewide conservative groups, including:

  • Illinois Tea Party
  • Family-PAC federal
  • Eagle Forum of Illinois
  • Illinois Federation for Right to Life PAC
  • Illinois Citizens for Life federal PAC
  • Illinois Conservatives (4,000 conservatives across Illinois under 35 years old)
  • RedState Editor and CNN political commentator Erick Erickson
  • The Madison Project

Conservative groups are lining up behind Manzullo because they know he is the only candidate in the race who is serious about cutting wasteful Washington spending, balancing the budget, and paying down the national debt.

In fact, Manzullo voted last year 79 more times than Kinzinger to cut $209 billion more in spending than Kinzinger. In addition, Manzullo voted for the only budget alternative that would have cut $9.1 trillion in spending and balanced the budget within 10 years. Kinzinger voted against the bill.
