Romney Robo-Call Says Santorum Not Pro-Life

Mitt Romney seems to be trying to move votes from Rich Santorum to Newt Gingrich.

While my wife and I were eating outside at Colonial Cafe, my son took a robo-call that turned out to be from the Mitt Romney campaign.

It said that Rick Santorum was not Pro-Life.

Could have fooled me.

All the people I know who passed Santorum petitions were Pro-Life.

My guess is that Romney or whoever the call was from (maybe a SuperPAC that would give him deniability) were referring to some omnibus budget bill in which there was some money that went to Planned Parenthood.

In any event, it struck me as devious.

It was problem designed to push Santorum votes to Newt Gingrich.

My 14-year old also said he had taken a robo-call which requested people to push buttons concerning how they felt about various candidates. Probably the District 2 County Board one.

“I pushed all the wrong buttons. I said all of the candidates were “very unfavorable.”

So, candidates, if you linked my name to my son’s responses, please unlink it.

Anyone else getting any calls?

I know that both Kent Gaffney and Dave McSweeney have phone banks.

  1. I had the same call last night, plus one from Dan Proft supporting Sen. Syverson, and then another survey from AARP on Medicare.

Also a live body asking to talk to my wife on something political.

    She wasn’t around, and I wouldn’t do.

I’m also getting calls with no one on the other line (from 312).

Whomever is dialing isn’t getting on the line quick enough, and I’m not patient enough to wait for them.

  2. Anyone else tired of getting calls/letters etc. from politicians telling us how to think and how to vote?

These politicians sign a letter of false statements about someones record when they don’t even realize just how “unfactual” that record is?

I willl make up my own mind, talk to people that have had experience with that candidate and do my own homework.

Quit telling me how to vote. It’s huring your cause more than helping it.

  3. I got a Robo-Poll last night on the Republican Primary claiming to be from a “news organization.” Seemed pretty straight-forward.

I punched buttons and random and I think I told it i was a very strong Newt supporter because of his stance on gay marriage.

I took one a week or so ago that asked who I would vote for then abruptly disconnected when I answered.

Must have not been the right answer.
