Hultgren Gives Weekly Update, Talks of Springfield Financial Mess

Randy Hultgren

An email from Congressman Randy Hultgren:

It’s been a busy week traveling around the 14th District, and it’s been wonderful to see so many of you.

On Wednesday, I held a press conference in Chicago to discuss Illinois’s dismal debt situation.

Did you know that Illinois now has the worst credit rating of any state in the nation, or that the state has $8.5 billion in unpaid bills?

The General Assembly is headed back to Springfield next week, and I hope they’ll start making the tough decisions needed to return our state to fiscal health – and I hope they remember that Washington won’t bail them out if they fail to do so. If you’re interested, video from the press conference is available here.

On a scheduling note, I’ll be on Fox Chicago Sunday this weekend, discussing the future of Fermilab as well as the federal science budget.

I’ve been an outspoken advocate for the basic scientific research done at Fermilab in Batavia, and I look forward to discussing this on Sunday. Tune in at 8:30AM on Sunday!

If you haven’t already, be sure to like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, or check out my YouTube page to stay informed on everything I’m doing on your behalf in Washington and in Illinois.

As always, it is truly an honor to serve you in Washington. Please contact me at 630.232.7104 or 202.225.2976 if I can be of assistance, or if you’d like to share your thoughts on the issues before Congress.

In service,

Randy Hultgren
Member of Congress
