In early October at the McHenry County GOP Port Edward fund raiser, Sheriff Keith Nygren introduced his Undersheriff Andy Zinke to someone after greeting former McHenry County Republican Party Chairman Jack Schaffer, whose head in in the bottom of the photo.
A full court press is being put on by Andy Zinke, Keith Nygren’s anointed successor for McHenry County Sheriff.
Nygren, of course, was elected two years ago and has a term that does not expire until 2014.
Nevertheless, Zinke filed forms for his Political Action Committee on September 27, 2011.
Even before that, Zinke was appearing at political functions in his uniform.
Look closely and you can see him at this late August, 2011, Nunda Township Republican Central Committee meeting featuring State Party Chairman Pat Brady.
About a month later, Zinke used the Sheriff’s Department’s publicity agent of choice, the Northwest Herald, to announce he was running for the office. (You don’t have to guess why I entitled the article, “Guess Who the Northwest Herald Will Endorse to Replay Sheriff Keith Nygren.”)

The introducing of Zinke to the local political Establishment continued.
He and a woman I think was his wife attended the Port Edward fund raiser for the McHenry County Republican Central Committee in early October.
Sheriff Keith Nygren introduced him around.
Later in October, Zinke was there glad-handing police and fire officials at the Nunda Township Republican Party’s picnic honoring them.
By this time Zinke was not wearing his dress uniform.
In February, Zinke was back to dress whites when he attended a meeting of the McHenry County Business Committee, spear-headed by Nunda Township Republican Party Central Committee Chairman Brent Smith.
Indicating increasing favor on the part of McHenry County Republican Party Chairman Mike Tryon was Zinke’s selection to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the GOP’s Lincoln Day Dinner.
The most recent indication of how far Sheriff Nygren is willing to go to promote his underling is the newly-revamped web site of the Sheriff’s Department.
Comments under the story, turned into a story of its own, suggested it was part of Zinke’s campaign to replace Nygren.
But the best indication that Zinke’s supporters are going all-out to elect their man are the invitations to his late June fund raiser in Union.
Post cards went out throughout McHenry County.
As far as I know, each precinct committeeman got one. (“No charge,” was the message.)
This post card invitation to Hebron’s Police Chief Scot Annen was date stamped June 11, 2012, and send from Crystal Lake Postal Permit 344.
And, elected officials, plus police and fire officials, presumably from the McHenry County Yearbook listing, received invitations at their government’s address.
Why look up home addresses when one can just do it the easy way, I guess.
But the invitation wasn’t just send by first class post cards.
It arrived by email.

The email seem to have gone out June 14th.
At the bottom appears the following sentence:
“Please excuse this message if your e-mail policy does not allow for political information. Please let me know and you will be removed from the address list,” is the message at the bottom of the Andy Zinke email campaign contribution solicitation.

No he isn’t, if you want a real “klunker” vote for this guy.
Being a “klunker” is only a very small part of his problems.

So, Zinke is mailing to local governments to be sure… WOW, he’s gonna learn a very hard lesson about many things very soon!!
I received political invitations from Lou Bianchi, Nick Provenzano and many others at my government address- no one made a big deal out of that.
And I am not a member of the Republican party.
Everyone in this county does it.
In many, many years, I have not gotten any invitation this way.
This looks like a desperate attempt.
It is a common practice to send to whatever address is on file unless the recipient requests that an address not be used.
The key is what address the candidate is using to send and receive.
Many employers both private and public have differing rules on incoming mail.

Nygren wants this guy in tooooooooo badly. Cannot be a good thing.

Yes, here we go – have to get the truth out somehow.
The NWH does not check out anything, leaves out a lot of news and edits to slant beyond belief.
Could it be because editors are good friends to the people in the Nygren camp???
Or perhaps they simply aren’t extreme alarmists?
Can you see it now a hard hitting expose on if the Sheriff’s star symbol should have 6 or 7 points?
Or perhaps an award winning column on if a mailing list spreadsheet was hand checked to see if all the PO box numbers on it were private and not public (i mean how would one even do that)?
I mean any normal person would simply reply AS REQUESTED that they shouldn’t be getting that type of mail at that PO Box #, takes a special type of individual to think it is some type of conspiracy.
Tired – the star issue cost taxpayers a bundle.
An investigation would turn up A LOT OF TAX DOLLARS ABUSED.
This was the initial brief.
Kind of like stopping someone for a broken tail light and then finding the guy was wanted and then gave cause for a search of the car and finding the drugs.
The star was a tip of the iceburg.
An investigation would turn up a lot of abuse and beyond.
The judge never said their was nothing to investigate or that there was no evidence.
The issue at had was WHO WOULD DO THE INVESTIGATING.
SEIPLER DID NOT LOSE.
This was NOT NONSENSE.
The only wasted money would be all the taxpayer money that would be spent on a fishing expedition based on a personal grudge.
We the taxpayers are not an open wallet to be spent on petty personal grudges.
This “grudge” as you call it is crap.
This sheriff has been a parasite from the day he was appointed (like the attempt with Andy now).
The lawsuits we have paid for because of his “band of merry men” are astronomical.
We are paying out for bad behavior on a regular basis.
