Chick-fil-A is having its Grand Opening in Crystal Lake on August 9th.
Having missed the nationwide August 3rd Appreciation Day, Fox River Grove Republican Precinct Committeeman Andrew Gasser is calling for a Crystal Lake Appreciation Day for August 9th.
As he reported yesterday, you can get a taste of Chick-fil-A’s product at Home Depot today starting sometime after t0 AM.
The email I received about the Appreciation Day event follows:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
You may or may not know that we will have our very own Chick-Fil-A opening August 9th right here in Crystal Lake. Many of us may not have participated in the Chick-Fil-A Appreciation day where conservatives all around the country supported Chick-Fil-A.
I have attached a flier with all the information and the plan is really simple. Show up on the 9th sometime and eat, post a pic or three on facebook, and enjoy the day. If we share this with enough of our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers it could really be a fun time.
I hope we can all come together as a party and have some fun together.

I support everyone’s right to voice their opinion, and this is no exception. \
But it does strike me as odd that this is a focal point of anyones attention right now.
When this blows over, Mr. Gasser, can we get back to the economy?
In the meantime, be a good conservative and wolf down 50 fat grams in the name of family values.

Why would anyone go to Home Depot that supports the gay agenda to taste something from a company that is against the agenda?

Cindy, you know the gay agenda is the Constitution of the United States?
And you know that there are not just gays who face discrimination but bi-sexuals, lesbians, and transgenders.
So wouldn’t the Gay agenda you are really speaking of be the LGBT agenda and isn’t wanting the same civil rights as everyone else the same thing Dr King and Ghandi achieved?
Are you for discrimination? Are you an oppressor?
You know Hitler killed gays, lesbians, and other undesirables.
Are you a tyrant but too afraid to stare down the fact you cloak your discriminative and divisive agenda in a biblical cloth unwilling to admit that God is a forgiving God and that you are not one to judge because you probably have a board in your eye whereas you neighbor has a splinter.
Leave God to judge, leave other to be happy.
Why are you so against happiness of others?
Shouldn’t we be promoting love and not resentment?

Comparing Christians to Hitler….
I wish people wold just say what they mean.
It’s not about “free speech’ or any other malarky.
You want to go to “support” Chick-Fil-a because you hate gay people.
How do I now this?
Well, I guarantee you didn’t run out and buy any Dixie Chicks records to support their “free speech” did you?
Don’t talk about supporting values or free speech, just say I hate Gay People and eat where ever you want.
Think maybe Christians do not ‘hate’ participants in the LGBT lifestyle but they do disagree with such behavior?
Think maybe it is the LGBT community that is participating in a ‘hate’ approach?
Nice try attempting to insert the word ‘hate’ for the word ‘disagree’.
If the LGBT participants had any sense they would be paying more attention to the ‘domed’ buildings growing like mushrooms in the United States of America.
What kind of twisted person would run out and buy something they didn’t like and didn’t support just to “support their ability to have free speech”?

Joe, I don’t think that you know how to frame an argument for the agenda. (Liberals still do not get that the strawman argument never wins anything but pity for the one that brings it up.)
Maybe your misunderstanding of Joe’s argument is a gross misunderstanding of history.
When the chicks came out against the war, many people started to destroy Dixie Chicks CDs.
Joe is saying that you are not a supporter of the Christian right agenda by buying a sandwich made from genetically modified breast meat. (And who’s playing God?)
And Tonya, nowhere did I compare Christians to Hitler.
I said that Hitler killed gays and other undesirables which is a historical fact.
And I’m not saying that you are killing people, but you certainly are not being supportive of equal rights.
For so much that you claim to be for the constitution, you are clearly against letting everyone have their right to pursue life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
And to knowledgable voter. Domed buildings?
Are you referring to mosques?
If you are, then you also are against the constitution as we have a right to pursue whatever religion we want to.
Never have you read the Koran, but I bet we would not be in these problems we are in right now if we followed one of the pillars of Islam which is to not take on debt.
The moral is that we are all different – biologically, ideologically, philosophically, and sexually.
If there is a difference, do not label it as negative or immoral or ideologically inferior, just see it for what it is – different.
You do not gain a larger house in the kingdom of heaven for policing your views on everyone else for like I said before, you probably have a board in your eye whereas your neighbor a splinter.
Focus on yourself, on our own needs, wants and desires.
Leave all other fears up to God.
Be a compassionate Christian. God judges.
It’s not your job to.
And Cal, I would have a chicken sandwich with you, but I’m watching my figure and fast food does not seem like the best way to get in shape. ; ) Grace and Peace be with you.

It is a complete bonus that they support strong family values.
Personally, it would be a great statement for all of us if we could pack the Chick-Fil-A on the 9th.

Judge for yourself…..the title of the one in Chicago was “The Fall Of Capitalism, The Rise Of Islam.
They admittedly hate gays.
You should never assume things.
Keep to the facts.

I am against redefining marriage.
Civil unions, I would be supportive of.
I will never support changing the definition of marriage as between a man and woman.
Just as I would not call an adoption a birth.
I support Chick-Fil-A because they are being attacked for a difference of opinion.
