Walsh Takes Hit from Illinois Chapter of Council of American-Islamic Relations

The subhead is ‘No apology for remarks about Muslims, terror.”

“The threat we are facing from homegorwn jihadist terrorists is read, and Congressman Walsh will not bow to political correctness and ignore the issue,” Justin Roth, Walsh spokesman told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Since 9/11 there have been over 40 jihadist terror plots.  For that reason Attorney General Eric Holder has said that the growing threat of American being radicalized is what ‘keeps him awake at night.'”

Locally there was the Black Muslim who plotted with a Cooperating Witness to plant a bomb in trash container at Rockford’s Cherry Vale Mall.  No mainstream media I saw reported that “homegrown” terrorist.

The article does point out that Walsh is a member of the Homeland Security Committee in the U.S. House.

Walsh’s Thursday statement is here.

Friday’s Chicago Sun-Times coverage can be found here.

  1. It really shouldn’t be that controversial. He’s talking about jihadists.

Like I said as long as you dont paint a broad brush about Muslims then what’s the harm?

He is right about political correctness blinding us.

I just fear that some people who lack intelligence will take his comments the wrong way and blame Muslims.

Walsh should quickly react and say there’s nothing wrong with Muslims.

  2. Start with the whitehouse and get this one out.

He plays any side he can to get points.

Did you ever hear of him going to church or cellabrating holy days?

Only muslim holy days, which should say something.

November take back washington and restore goodness in the whitehouse.

Elect a president that has and can prove he has credentials for the job unlike who is in there now.

  3. Yeah, I’ve heard it before knowledge voter.

Not all Muslims want to take over the world.

  4. anon….

Tell how to identify the Muslims that want to take over the world?

  5. So are you saying all muslims are no different than terrorists and deserve the same fate?

  6. Putting all people who have different beliefs (eg. Muslims) in the same box is just plain ignorant.

For those afraid that all Muslims are out to do harm to America, are you afraid that all white people think they are the Joker and are ready to go on a shooting spree? Are you afraid that all white people believe in white supremacy and will kill those who are of a different race?

Why are you not afraid of evil white people as much as you are afraid of the evil Muslims, Asians, blacks, etc.?

Hate comes in all colors, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and creeds.

No race, religion or ethnicity is immune to having people who do terrible, incomprehensible things but yet, there are those who like to paint entire groups of people with the same brush.

How would Caucasians feel if elected officials started saying that the biggest threat to the nation was homegrown white hate groups?

Or that the biggest threat was Caucasian Christians?

Or that the biggest threat was Jews?

Would it be perceived as racist then?

I know…it’s not the same thing right?

  7. At some point you will realize Congressman walsh is working on his post congress plan
To follow Palin on the speaking circuit.

He makes more now than ever before

  8. Walsh is right. CAIR is a muslim brotherhood front group.

They are (or were) actually pretty open about it when they think they are in a friendly environment.
