Joe Rosner Outlines Write-In Campaign: “Tell Jack No!”

What you see below the web site captured immediately below was posted as a comment on Sunday’s article about Hebron’s Joe Rosner’s running for State Representative against Mike Madigan supporter Jack Franks.

What you see at the top of Joe Rosner’s web site.

Thank you McHenry County Blog, McBlog Readers and Commenters, I am flattered and humbled.

It is said if you want change start with yourself.

My intent was just that, to have a choice other than voting for Jack Franks.

Leaving the oval on the ballot blank is not a choice, it is the same as supporting Jack Franks and by proxy his boss Michael Madigan.

Now I have made a choice and you have one to make too.

When I teach safety and self defense to children, we always end by reciting,

Joe Rosner

“I will not be a victim.

“I will not be a perpetrator.

“I will not be a bystander.”

Our state is failing and I can not standby to watch Jack Franks and the Madigan Kleptocracy “win” an election without one, single solitary vote against him.

We may have to continue as victims but we can’t just be bystanders anymore.

So I urge YOU to Step Up and Step In!

IL_Jeffersonian you sir are correct.

Although many seem to want an “Anyone But Jack” voter option, you should know what I stand for.

Keeping in mind I running with a “beer money” sized campaign fund, (No donations sought or accepted. Send your extra dollars to Animal House Shelter or SmileTrain or other worthy cause.) and I am just starting to address issues at JoeRosner.info.

The simple version of my approach is:

1. Is it Constitutional?

2. Is a necessary government function?

3. Can we afford it?

I am interested in learning what issues the people of the 63rd District want addressed and their opinions.

Should I be elected I will decide my votes and take the heat for my votes.

But you will be heard and you will know my position.

Want to help?

Email your circle of influence.

Get them informed and urge them to take action.

I am not asking anyone, any political party or any lobbying group for money or even an endorsement, just email the link to my website, JoeRosner.info and any other related information out to as many as you care for. If you like, include JackFranks.org so it’s fair and balanced.

If you want to help even more, produce content for the campaign.

Articles, videos, posters, signs and handouts etc.

Send me links that you think should be on the campaign’s web pages. Also send Candidate Questionnaires from groups you belong to and I will answer them to the best of my ability, then post them online.

Agree or disagree I won’t weasel on issues.

If invited to, I will speak with any group in the district.

The Franks/Madigan Combine can not be beaten by traditional strategies and tactics.

But that’s not how American Patriots defeated King George, is it?

They may have the money, the political organization and the power.

We have an insurgent campaign by, for and of the People.

Step Up and Step In! Fill in the oval and Write In “Joe Rosner”.

Joe Rosner Outlines Write-In Campaign: “Tell Jack No!” — 5 Comments

  1. Ahh.. another self-proclaimed constitutional expert.

A vote for Joe Rosner (R-McHenry County Blog) is on par with a vote for Tonya Franklin.

Where were all these loons earlier in the game?

Why not pull petitions and run a real campaign?

  2. This is political posturing at its best. Not only do the reasons for Mr. Rosner’s candidacy reflect a fundamental lack of political knowledge or even the least bit of understanding of State government, but most of his references to Franks’ record revolve around pinning federal statues against either: (A) Legislation that Franks proposed that hasn’t passed, or (B) Legislation Franks SHOULD have proposed but did not, or (C) Posturing with no real fact checking or source to back up his claims.

(i.e.: Claiming Jack is not for free speech because Franks sent a letter to Cal Skinner that referenced a letter that Andrew Zinke sent (Which Cal has not yet posted… is he hiding something?!) in which he does not want Cal at his events. And that somehow qualifies as dissent against free speech?)

This is first and foremost a joke. Does Rosner know what month it is? Even John O’Neill ran in the primary in 2010 and his measly campaign was able to carry a meager 2 precincts in the entire 63rd and that was with full support from the GOP. Tonya Franklin attempted to get in last minute and she failed as well. What is Rosner trying to prove by taking no money, spending 0 on ads and requesting no campaign donations? This write in campaign is clearly representative of an individual that is an ideologue and attempting to make a statement, but doing it all the wrong way.

If you are against unfettered funding to campaigns, well, you ought to protest the Citizens United Decision on the FEDERAL level, not state. You should protest the Koch Brothers for pumping billions into PAC’s that make the little people think they are part of grassroots efforts when really it’s astroturf and the sheeple are pawns. You should demonize Madigan, and not Franks because Jack has not voted for a tax increase, has not voted for the budget and Jack is attempting to decrease the size of government already with his Government Consolidation Commission.

Conservatives everywhere should look at Jack’s RECORD and NOT political affiliation. They should look at EVERYONE’S votes because many Republicans vote for Madigan including Tryon, yet I do not see a fierce campaign to dethrone him. Conservatives should look at Jack’s fiscal conservative values and realize that you are not going to agree with 100% of what a politician believes but that compromise is the key to our democracy.

  3. The first vote a State Representative makes each session is for House Speaker.

Jack Franks has voted for Mike Madigan six times.

I would note that the two precincts John O’Neill carried are no longer in Franks’ district.

  4. I love the back and forth here. It represents the best in the American tradition of political conversation. Just to answer a couple of questions.

    1. I would never put myself forth as a Constitutional expert, although I have friends with those credentials. Aside from a couple of related college classes, my constitutional credentials are volunteering to protect and defend the Constitution.

    2. I think you’ll find Ms. Franklin and I differ on many issues. Nevertheless, I will always treat her with respect and consider her opinions, even if I differ. I did not pull petitions and run, or even put myself forward as a candidate, as I was hoping someone else would.

    4. A. Forcing athletes to be drug tested without any reasonable suspicion.

    B.Threatening a local journalist.

    C. Requiring property owners to permit utilities to enter upon and remove property without due process.

All of the above are just some of Jack Franks’ well documented positions and, while I am not a partner in a law firm, just an Army Veteran with a degree in law enforcement, all seem to be violations. Feel free to disagree.

    5. Actually, last week when I took a flight physical, I had to demonstrate I knew not just the month, but the day, year and my current location. I passed. While I may be making my statement “the wrong way,” I am making a statement, not hiding under some Internet rock.

With all due respect, did your mom name you, “Anonymous”? “

To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.”

    6. I agree 100% on Citizen’s United. I also think we should stop allowing members of the Legislature to also be lobbyists in the same Legislature. My campaign is a statement against the political yard sale that state and federal government have become.

    7. I am registered to vote in Hebron Township Precinct 2. And, I don’t miss a lot of elections. Still, thanks for calling me a “guy”, not a loon.

    8. Jack Franks is part of the Michael Madigan problem, not the solution. Read this- http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/middle-class-guy/2012/jun/7/place-called-illinois/

    Thanks for your consideration.
