Dean Marlowe served on the McHenry County Board before he decided his full-time effort was required to run the Ace Hardware Store he bought in Hampshire.

The Huntley man was a representative in District 1 when it covered all of Algonquin and Grafton Townships. There were three County Board districts at the time with eight members each.
