Another “Dear Republican” Letter from Dee Beaubien’s Female Mainly Ex-State Rep. Pro-Choice Friends

I’m behind on posting mailings in the hotly-contested State Rep. race between Republican Dave McSweeney and Dee Beaubien (Ind.-Madigan).

Here’s a letter financed by Beaubien’s campaign fund with women legislators she met while in Springfield with her husband Mark. It arrived Saturday.

The names on the letterhead, all Pro-Choice women, follow:

  • Corrine Wood
  • Rosemary Mulligan
  • Suzanne Bassi
  • Elizabeth Coulson
  • Gwen Klingler
  • Carolyn Krause
  • Rosemary Kurtz
  • Patricia Lindner

The first one can be found here.

This letter focuses on conservative fiscal matters.

“Dee Beaubien may not be on the ballot as a Republican but she is the one candidate that represents the ideals that Republicans hold dear,” is a sentence in the final paragraph.

Another “Dear Republican” Letter from Dee Beaubien’s Female Mainly Ex-State Rep. Pro-Choice Friends — 12 Comments

  1. Which Republicans are holding those ideals?

    Mike Madigan and Jack Franks?

It must be the Republicans for lower taxes, who bought all those signs.

  2. I was not referring specifically to this letter.

I was referring to ideals like the right to kill your baby.

Ideals like keeping Mike Madigan in power, and fair (67%) tax increases.

Those are the ideals that she represents and as a Republican those are not the ideals that I hold to.

This letter is trying to distract voters from those issues.

You can’t claim to be for lower taxes and say that you think the 67% increase made Illinois taxes fair.

You can’t claim to be for lower taxes and be that friendly with Madigan.

  3. No only friendly with madigan, taking your marching orders from him.

A perk for accepting all of the money he is sending to her.

  4. A lot of those people on the letterhead had “former” in their titles. I’m not saying, I’m just saying.

  5. Give me a break. What ridiculous spin.

Everyone knows their support is strictly about abortion rights.

And politicians wonder why no-one trusts them.

  6. **You can’t claim to be for lower taxes and say that you think the 67% increase made Illinois taxes fair.**

Umm… she didn’t say that the tax increase made taxes fair.

I have already demonstrated that McSweeney is lying about that.

  7. No dave, you demonstrated the Trib didn’t record the candidate responses on tape or digitally, but the edit board said they heard it.

Saying you proved it doesn’t mean you DID prove it.

  8. Ummm… no. I shared the exact email that I received from the trib, and I will do it again right here.

This e-mail came directly from Bruce Dold:

Dee Beaubien and Dave McSweeney appeared together for an endorsement interview with members of the editorial board.

Both candidates said they would roll back the income tax increase. They were asked how they would replace the revenue and whether they thought the individual income tax rate was in line with other states. Beaubien said: “That’s right. I think it’s fair. So there we are.” But she did make it clear she wanted to roll back the tax increase.

  9. Receiving so much funding from Madigan and his supporters is just a big red flag.

  10. “You can’t claim to be for lower taxes…”

Umm, Franks hasn’t ever voted for a tax or fee increase. Riddle your way out of that one.

  11. I just wanted to make the point that your Akin-quoting commercials on WLS are an insult to listeners’ intelligence.

They are so obnoxious that I turn the radio off rather than listen to them.

I only regret that I live outside your district and so I am unable to vote against you.

    Pathetic!
