  1. The more Madigan funds Beaubien, the more people will support McSweeney.

Madigan has funded the liberals who claim to be “Repubicans” like her husband Mark, Jack Franks, and now Dee.

    What a sham.

  2. Madigan is dumping money in so fast we need a live ticker just to keep track.

As of 9PM tonight he and Cosgrove (pro-gay, pro-abortion) just added another $65,000 for a total of $475,834.90!!!!

  3. Wow Nick! This is just insane loony toons money being rolled into IL-52 House Race.

    They want this race.

If Dee wins, this is the new model.

    Run dems as independents.

    Its a scary scenario.

    Call your friends and neighbors.

    Respectfully,
    Andrew Gasser

  4. Skeptic, you are a knuckle head….Jack has always claimed to be a Dem….

  5. Oh yeah…I said something about Jack Franks….I guess in your eyes, Skeptic…I am a Rino….. again…your tent continues to shrink as you disqualify your allies….

  6. Whew….Jeff….take your meds this morning. Obviously I hit a nerve a while ago.

History lession: Jack had always referred to himself as a “Republican with a heart.” C’mon, get with the program.

  7. If it’s good for Mike Madigan, it’s bad for Illinois. Period.

In the vein of Mr. Thorsen’s comments though, there is a discussion to be had sometime among friends: the titles of DINO and RINO.

Your definition of a Republican or Democrat might be different than mine.

    And probably is.

Anymore, party affiliations are a matter of convenience and not beliers.

Which is why Dee fits this so well — all she is trying to do is slide in to office without a discussion of her beliefs, aside from her entitlement to the position.

Andrew Gasser’s connection of Dee/Madigan early on should really be the defining issue in this race.

  8. Is the only way to escape Madigan and the Cook County machine is for the rest of Illinois to peacefully sever our political ties with Cook County (aka secede)?

  9. **all she is trying to do is slide in to office without a discussion of her beliefs, aside from her entitlement to the position.**

    Huh??

Dee has absolutely been discussing her beliefs.

If you’re not seeing what positions that Dee is going to take on issues, you’re not paying attention.

  10. **Is the only way to escape Madigan and the Cook County machine is for the rest of Illinois to peacefully sever our political ties with Cook County (aka secede)? **

LOL – do you realize how foolish that this would be?

Do you realize that Cook County taxes actually fund the rest of the state?

Cook County is a net exporter of taxes.

This is very similar to blue states and red states – the vast majority of “blue” states are net exporters of federal taxes and the vast majority of “red” states are net importers of federal taxes.

  11. You mean the rest of the state *government* that is going broke.

I wouldn’t mind being free of the rules of Madigan and Cook even if it cost us some stolen property.

There is more to State Government that the property it steals from its Citizens.

  12. **You mean the rest of the state *government* that is going broke**

And it would be even MORE broke without Cook County.

**There is more to State Government that the property it steals from its Citizens.**

Sigh… taxes are now stolen property? Should we abolish all taxes?

  13. The whole “Federal Tax Dollars Received per Tax Dollar Paid” premise is fundamentally wrong-headed.

It is a glaring indication of what the Federal government has become, a distribution system for santa-claus goodies.

Is it any wonder that nine of the thirteen counties in the country with the highest median household incomes lie within the Washington DC metropolitan area?

Btw, dave, sequeing this construct into implied proof that Cook County is a “definitely … a net loser” using nothing more than an unrelated study model is clever but completely defective.
