McHenry County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Koziol’s request for Judge Thomas Meyer to name a Special Prosecutor to investigate the charges laid out early last week about Undersheriff Andy Zinke is on tap this morning.

McHenry County State’s Attorney is expected to file paperwork telling what position his office is taking in the case.

Meyer is the judge that had Sheriff Deputy Zane Seipler’s request for a Special Prosecutor to be named to investigate Sheriff Keith Nygren.

After more than two years of court hearings, Meyer declined to do so.

Zinke is Sheriff Keith Nygren’s choice to succeed him in 2014.

James Harrison and Bill Prim have also entered the contest.
