Supervisor Moore was incorrectly advised she did not have the authority to order the audit.

“I apologize for delaying this audit,” Linda Moore said.

“Immediately following the ruling I signed the forensic audit contract, which is now in the hands of the auditor.”

Grafton Township trustees still have not authorized payment for a completed audit prepared by Evans, Marshall and Pease for FY ending 2011.

A forensic audit will provide the board and taxpayers insight into township finances.

The work is scheduled to start within the next two weeks.

  1. “Supervisor Moore was incorrectly advised she did not have the authority to order the audit.”

Well, she put it out there in her press release.

The logical follow up question is “Who gave her that advice?”, particularly since Judge Caldwell in his 30+ page Memorandum Opinion held that the Supervisor must sign a contract which was approved by the Board even if she disagrees with the contract.

  2. Great but too late, unless any findings are released prior to the primary.

She can hold her head high that the stalling and continuances bought her time to not interfere with at least one election – maybe both.

Even when taxpayers win, they lose.

  3. Cal, you seem to have forgotten to mention that Linda was found to be in contempt of court:

“This cause coming on for hearing on Defendants’ Petition for Rule to Show Cause, the court having heard all the evidence and examined all exhibits, it is hereby ordered that: 1. Defendants’ Petition is granted and Plaintiff Moore is found to be in contempt of this Court’s prior order of December 10, 2010; 2. Plaintiff Moore is hereby sentenced ot serve 30 days in the McHenry County jail beginning March 14, 2013; 3. Plaintiff Moore can purge herself of this contempt order and jail sentence by executing the Township’s Nov. 8, 2012 contract with ECS Financial and cutting a check for $10,000 to ECS as provided for by the Township Board on November 8, 2012 4. This case is continued to Mar. 14, 20143 at 9:00 AM without further notice. /s/ Judge Michael Caldwell”

  4. Cal, Did you attend this hearing involving Linda Moore yesterday?

  5. “I apologize for delaying this audit,” Linda Moore said.

Was it a heartfelt apology Linda?

“Immediately following the ruling I signed the forensic audit contract, which is now in the hands of the auditor.”

Because you want to open up your books OR because of your desire to avoid time in jail?

Linda, you can now add “In the four years that I have been Grafton Township Supervisor, I have avoided jail!” to your campaign literature. Karma baby, Karma!
