Judge Maureen McIntyre Makes Front Page of Sun-Times Again

The Chicago Sun-Times tries to tie Judge Maureen McIntyre to the “Daily Machine” through jobs her ex-in-laws had before they died a long time ago. Her ex-husband, with whom she is still living, also held patronage jobs under Governor Dan Walker in the mid-1970′s.

Again the Chicago Sun-Times put McHenry County Circuit Court Judge Maureen McIntyre on its front page today.

The article does a good job of tying McIntyre’s ex-husband, with whom she still resides, with the Democratic Machine at the time of the first Mayor Richard Daley.

But the ties are decades old.

And they are to her ex-husband, not to Judge McIntyre.

Now, maybe the ex-husband, who became her “ex” in a Boone County courtroom in what seems to have been a way to protect assets that would have been forfeited had the couple stayed married, is doing something to prejudice the Judge in favor of defendant R.J. Vanecko, the most recent Mayor Richard Daley’s nephew, but that strikes me as unlikely.

The research of the reporters certainly does show mufti-generational relationships between families of State Rep. Dan O’Brien and the Henehans (the family name of the Judge’s ex-husband), but I don’t see the relationship to the case in question.

There is one other connection that is interesting. The Special Prosecutor, Dan Webb, convicted Alderman Paul Wigoda, who had hired McIntyre’s ex-husband Raymond X. Henehan as a traffic investigator for Wigoda’s City Council committee. Henehan resigned a couple of weeks before the indictment was handed down and went to work for IDOT, where Walker patronage guy Vic DeGrazia held sway.

  1. You have to hand it to the muck rakers at the Sun-Slimes…

    They can really dig deep.

Why, I’ll bet that if they work long enough and hard enough they will be able to prove that BOTH McIntyre and her ex-hubby have shopped, eaten, visited and maybe even (gasp!) spent a night in Chicago.

If any of this has happened in the last 30-40 years, you can bet that some portion of whatever they spent wound up greasing the palm of Daley I, Daley II or one of their legion of cronies.

    Shocking, but true

  2. Judge Mac is one tough cookie, the press can make mountains out of mole hills, and she will do McHenry County proud, it is a tough case and government better prove its case “beyond a reasonable doubt” or the jury will decide the case for Judge Mac and the government.

  3. I’m tickled by all of the Judge’s friends on here.

But there may be a point missed.

These guys proly want to scuttle the judge because she is pro state.

If you watch FOX news or Nancy Grace, this is a good thing, if you are a defendant it is an awful thing.

You may have concerns about “Judge Mac” which is a name she doesn’t go by at the courthouse because either she is biased for the state, or doing things that don’t reflect well on a judge.

Of course you have none of those concerns if you don’t appear in front of her, or you are a friend.

    Just Sayin.
