Al Zielinski Makes Mail Appeal — 15 Comments

  1. If we cannot keep Bill Ottley, which would have been the right choice, the only other candidate for the job is Terra Jensen

  2. Actually I don’t know Alan, but his resume suggests that he is someone I would never want in township government.

It’s these kind of MBAs that don’t do what is sensible, they do what will get them elected again.

And as I said, just my experience with “experienced” people (who point out how experienced they are).

  3. So the conclusion is township government personnel should be limited to inexperienced people?!

Why should taxpayers be penalized with inexperience??

The differential is so glaring only because of the extremely limited experience of my opponent.

  4. Al what scares me about you…shoot..just about everything…why don’t you go back home to Lake County..being in banking for 26 years, .I am very familiar with professional appraisers…I have yet to see one walk on water….more importantly your industry really over valued real estate which was a huge contributor to this Great Recession… walk on water….out of my township please!

  5. Curious, how Al Zielinski’s zeal to document Terra Jensen’s job titles, he omitted the current “Deputy Assessor” one. Guess he didn’t want to make Jensen appear too good.

Come Tuesday, it’ll be Terra Jensen looking good when the Restore Grafton supporters who suported Zielinski in the primary will, along with Pam Fender, Jeff Thorsen, Steve Harlfinger and many others elect Terra Jensen as the next Grafton Assessor.

  6. That comparison is for business titles not valuation titles.

I didn’t include mine either so the comparison is fair.

Her deputy assessor experience (what little there is of it) is disclosed under valuation where it should be.

  7. Wrong again, Al. All you listed in your hit piece was ‘three years junior assessment’ and ‘minimal’. Nowhere are the words “deputy assessor” used.

But as we look at things that have been disclosed, you will see why Jensen will win on Tuesday. First, you claim you won’t hire disgraced Supervisor Linda Moore if you’re elected on Tuesday and take office in January, citing lack of assessment experience. Given you also promised to look to retain the current 6 deputy assessors in the office first if they were cryptically “properly motivated”, you’ve already broken that pledge, since you offered to make Jensen your chief deputy assessor if she dropped out of the race back on March 1.

So, you broke one pledge to retain current staff, how are we to believe you that you truly will not hire Linda Moore should you win and take office in January?!? Here is what I see your de facto running mate Linda Moore and you trying to pull off. Moore has publicly said, since she lost the primary, that the township must shut down this spring due to lack of monies in the Town Fund to meet payroll. The six deputy assessors are furloughed, and given their experience will likely land jobs in other townships — especially if they see you win on Tuesday.

If elected, when you take office in January, you have such a dearth of people in deputy assessor role, you are forced to hire Linda Moore as a Deputy Assessor. How close to the mark have I hit upon you and Moore’s scheme?

The only way to truly keep Linda Moore out of the assessor’s office as a deputy assessor is to elect Terra Jensen on Tuesday.

  8. So, if my neighbor lets his house like this, YOU would have him pay LESS taxes than me? Is that the disparity you’re pointing out? Or is it that I keep a tidy home so YOU will charge me MORE?

So you believe in penaliizing tax payers who keep up their home. Yeah I think that’s it! YOU harging people to pay YOUR fair share.

Please concede your campaign. The risk of you becoming ate next Assessor is all too risky.

  9. Let me correct that last sentence. It’s important.

“The risk of you becoming our next assessor is all to risky”

  10. Al,

Apparently no matter how much experience one has, it’s evident that you will never learn the concept of ethics or respect.

I’m confident in Terra’s ability to be our next assessor.

It boils down to basic math, work ethic, respect, drive and leadership skills of which you seem to be devoid of all but one.

And I have not any evidence you are capable of any of them.

  11. People, what I see you should see as well…

Appraisers are qualified to be assessors…but being an appraiser is not a bonafide job qualification for being an assessor because they are different jobs…

Arguments could easily be made that an appraiser may be biased and there fore less qualified…

Pick 3 appraisers to value a property….if Al is right they will all come in close ….

as often as not they don’t come in close at all..

    that is a fact…

so don’t be fooled and mislead by a claim to the “appraiser” credential…

    it is well overblown
