The third candidate seeking to become McHenry County Sheriff filed his campaign disclosure just two minutes before the July 15th midnight deadline.

He reported $11,334.59 in cash and in-kind contributions.

That puts him in second place in the second quarter of 2014 fund raising derby.

Totals for the three candidates can be seen below:

  • Andy Zinke – $15,375
  • Jim Harrison – $11,335
  • Bill Prim – $9,095

Because of a quite successful first quarter, Prim still has the most money on hand.  The three’s totals as of the end of June follow:

  • Prim – $36,069.34
  • Zinke – $26,760.38
  • Harrison – $12,082.81

The identified contributors to Prim and Zinke were posted yesterday.

Below are those who made contributions of over $150 to Harrison:

  • $1,000 – Timothy Downes, Self-employed Salesman, Woodstock
  • $1,000 – Sam Markos, Self Employed Entrepreneur, Park Ridge
  • $770 – Chas. Herdrich & Son, Inc., McHenry [signs]
  • $365 – Deann Finke, Harvard

  • $200 – Alpine Dental Practice, P.C., North Barrington
  • $200 – Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle, Crystal Lake

Harrison had $6,874.61 in cash and in-kind contributions which were under $150.01 and did not have to be reported by name.

  1. Independent candidate for sheriff Jim Harrison has really turned out to be a joke.

After his publicity stunt late last week challenging Republican candidate Bill Prim to face-off on WIND radio, the attorney and martial arts instructor is bringing me back memories of another martial arts instructor from the 2004 movie “Napolean Dynamite”.

Yep, Harrison reminds me too much of Rex, of the “Rex Kwon Do” dojo in Preston, Idaho.

Go search for the movie and “Rex” on YouTube, and see if his TV ad resembles Harrison’s press releases from last week.

Then watch the scene of Napolean and his 32-year old brother taking their free introductory lesson at Rex Kwon Do.

Oh well, maybe Harrison will cut a commercial featuring his martial arts background, too.

Either way, I can’t see Harrison’s mug shot image and NOT think about “Rex Kwon Do” after his publicity stunt from last week.
