Peaker Plant Wells Would Compete with One in Island Lake

In my exploring of the effects of siting a gas-fired electric generating peaker plant in Oakwood Hills, I have been asking local municipalities how deep their wells are.

That seems relevant because Enventure Partners proposes two wells taking a total of 2,200 gallons per minute from a depth of 1,380 feet down.

While much local drinking water comes from shallow aquifers, some go down a quarter mile.

Island Lake has one of them, as you can see below:

  1. Good for you Cal!

Sadly the “regular main stream news ” ignores this issue.

Buy the time the NWH wakes up, this thing will be pumping 2200 gallons per minute from our fragile water supply .

Every 60 seconds an average swimming pool evaporated into space to run the turbine.
