Former McHenry County Sheriff’s Sergeant Greg Pyle is not stranger to Federal Judge Frederick Kapala.
He was called as a witness in now-again-former, then McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Zane Seipler’s wrongful termination suit. Pyle did not answer questions then.
After the first order of business, a plea deal for a cocaine distributor, the Judge asked,
“What’s going to happen with Pyle?”
Assistant Attorney General Mike Love told the Court that they “expected to ask for an extension of two weeks.”
“This is going to resolve in a plea,” Pyle attorney Paul Gaziano said.
“I’m not prepared to ask for a date with a plea.”
The case was continued until November 1, 2013, at 9 AM.
Pyle is facing Federal charges of
- one count of sex with a person less than 12 years old
- two counts of sexual exploitation of children
He is being held at the Boone County Jail.

Seipler v. Cundiff et al has not been dismissed and is still very much active.
I have learned to limit my comments regarding said case due to the expert manipulation that high priced lawyers are capable of accomplishing.
Others who have joined the fray (a little late I may add) have not yet been educated on what to say(do) and not to say(do) in public.

Why do you suppose the McHenry County State’s Attorney is laying low on Case No. 12CF000020, filed 1/9/2012. This is, of course, the State Police case against Greg Pyle – 10 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault against a child (<13). Count the court dates: 1/11/12, 1/27, 2/21, 2/23, 3/2, 3/5, 3/9, 4/13, 5/25, 6/14, 7/26, 9/6, 10/15, 11/15. Then in 2013: 1/10, 3/6, 5/13, 7/16, 8/13, 9/12. Next court date is November 1.
Why all the fooling around and waste of court time and taxpayer-supported prosecuting attorneys?
Why don't the State Police and McHenry County SAO proceed with this case, and let the Feds fool around on their own time?
The person charged here was a Sergeant in the McHenry County Sheriff's Department.
The Public should be demanding that it is represented, and then SAO should proceed without further delay.

Responsible leaders, such as Undersheriff Andrew Zinke, do arrive early to prepare the event prior before the event begins.
