The filings for McHenry County Board have been completed and a new face seems destined to be elected next November.
His name is Charles Wheeler and he is one of two candidates in District 4, the one that comprises most of McHenry, plus Richmond and Burton Townships.
He will be replacing Sandra Salgado, who most expected would run for re-election along with John Hammerand.
Wheeler is an insurance agent who lives in McHenry. He is also running for GOP Committeeman in McHenry 21.
In District 1, three candidates are vying for the opportunity to take on one of the McHenry County Board’s two Democrats, Nick Chirikos:
- incumbent Robert “Bob” Nowak
- Andrew Gasser
- David M. Stieper
Shoe-ins for re-election in the Crystal Lake-Lake in the Hills District 2 are
Joe Gottemoller
- James L. Heisler
- Donna Kurtz
In District 3, comprised mainly of territory from northern Crystal Lake to southern McHenry incumbent Joe Gottemoller will mix it up with three who wish to be among the favored two to run against Democrat Kathy Bergan Schmidt in the General Election:
- Nancy L. Gonsiorek, District 47 Board member
- Donald C. Kopsell, former Nunda Township Road Commissioner
- Sarah Jansen
Zane Seipler
In District 5, which has much of Woodstock, Huntley and Lake in the Hills, three are running for the two lines on the Republican Party side of the ballot:
- John Jung Jr., incumbent Republican
- Michael Rein, the GOP candidate whom Democrat Paula Yensen beat last year
- Zane R. Seipler, who challenged Sheriff Keith Nygren four years ago and is running against his choice to succeed him, Andy Zinke for GOP Precinct Committeeman
In the rural western McHenry County Board district, two incumbents, Ersel Schuster and Michcle Aavang are being challenged by 2012 Independent candidate Larry W. Smith.
Chuck Wheeler will be a great addition, beholden to no one and conservative.
No agendas, just tired of government waste.
Zane Seipler = Duncan Mchenry is just one of those people that will sacrifice their humiliation for attention.
Who knows, seeking a political career may be a good choice for him considering his long history of lies and deception.
In my opinion, Zane Seipler = Duncan Mchenry and Scott Milliman should take their clown act that they performed at the Bill Who’s fundraiser at Marzano’s on the road as a new career choice, because their clown acts were absolutely stupendous.
