    Full retirement benefits are 75% of the average of her last 4 years pay.

    Typically full retirement is about 35 years, but with the ERO program and exchanging unused sick days, almost everyone retires before 35 years of service.

    Most retire before 33 years of service.
    ERO = Early Retirement Option.
    FY 2015 she will have 28 years experience and be earning $167,000 base pay.
    Another thought is, would pension pickups be added to creditable earnings?
    For sake of argument let’s say its not, and Dr. Zimmer gets no more raises, before she retires at full retirement.
    $167,000 x .75 = $125,250.
    She will have a starting pension of $125,250.
    Most retirees recoup their lifetime pension contributions to TRS in the form of pension payouts in 1 – 3 years.
    Say she retires at 55 and lives to 80, which is 25 years.
    For sake of argument, no Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
    $125,250 x 25 = $3,131,250.
    She can easily become a millionaire in retirement.
