One Way China Gets Rid of Corrupt City Councilmen and State Legislators

I was struck by the little article about China’s having gotten rid of hundreds of city councilmen and 56 provincial (state) legislators last week.

According one area resident, these folks got off easily.

In a major city whose name I don’t remember, the mayor and about a hundred of his supporters were lined up against a wall and shot. That was under the prior regime.

We have elections here where people have an opportunity to get rid of corrupt officials.

And, at times, the U.S. Attorney’s Office intervenes.
