Most McHenry County Schools Announce Monday Day Off Because of Extreme Cold

From Woodstock District 200:

All District 200 schools and Kids Club will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2014. All after school activities, practices, evening events, sports and outside user activities will also be cancelled. Phone and email messages confirming this information will be sent via the Connect-ED messaging system to all families and staff.

Emergency Information

All District 50 schools will be closed on Monday, January 6th due to inclement weather. All after school activities and athletic events are also cancelled.

The same messages appear for the McHenry High and Grade School Districts.

Both the Marengo High School and Grade School Districts also report that schools will be closed Monday. Nieghboring Riley Grade School District 18 had not posted a similar notice as of mid-afternoon Sunday.

Richmond-Burton apparently did not have school scheduled for Monday, but its Teacher Institute has been cancelled.

Underlying Nippersink Grade School District 2 had no indication it would not be open as of mid-afternoon Sunday, although the WGN listing says it will be closed.

Johnsburg Unit District 12 says it will be closed Monday:

Wonder Lake’s Harrison Grade School District 36 will also be closed.

There is no indication that the Alden-Hebron Unit District 19 will be closed on its web site.
