Human Trafficking is not far away.

It is among us, hiding in the shadows.

Within a 10 mile radius of downtown Crystal Lake we have seen 4 massage parlors busted for prostitution and more insidious still, the largest child porn distributor in Illinois apprehended.

Another child porn bust in McHenry and now, a former Sergeant in the McHenry County Sheriff’s department has plead guilty to child pornography and sex acts with a minor.

None of these sad front-page stories are harmless and they almost always involve coercion.

This year we will learn how to draw a line in the sand, working with law enforcement, legislators, clergy and citizen activists to declare our counties NO Tolerance Zones.
