Roskam Invites Hoffman Estates Women Who Lost Health Insurance Under Obamacare to State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) announced his guest for the State of the Union address will be Diane Iser from Hoffman Estates, an 11-year breast cancer survivor who was notified she would lose her healthcare plan due to Obamacare.

“I am pleased to be joined by my constituent, Diane, who after losing the healthcare coverage that she liked and could afford, has been using her voice to speak out for the millions of Americans hurt by the President’s bad policies.

“Each time individuals like Diane receive a notice of increased health insurance premiums and higher out-of-pocket costs, it undercuts the president’s promise that his reforms would make healthcare more affordable.

“Six years into the Obama economy, it’s clear that more regulations, higher taxes and a more intrusive federal government is taking away people’s choices and leaving Americans with fewer jobs and less take home pay.

“I hope that Diane and I will hear the President commit to working with Congress to create the kind of long-term growth that brings individuals back to the workforce for high-quality, good-paying jobs.

“Instead of pushing more of the same failed policies at this State of the Union, I invite the president to join us and find the common ground to build a 21st Century economy, where the American people and innovation is the driving force, not the federal government and Washington bureaucrats.”
