Andrew Gasser is out knocking on doors.

In campaigns one either has to have money or time or a combination thereof.

Campaigning door-to-door and bowling alleys and other places people gather can offset the lack of money.

In Gasser’s campaign, both money and personal contact are in play.

The most recently reported contributions follow:

  • $2,000 – James and Maureen Muncy, Alexandria, VA
  • $1,000 – John (Jack) and Jeanine Roeser, Barrington

Since he filed his end of year report with resources of $5.441.67, he has also received $5,000 from Richard Uihlein.

Gasser is the only candidate in McHenry County I’ve seen making campaign posts on a blog.

The only County Board candidate showing more money is District 2 incumbent Joe Gottemoller.  At the end of 2013, he reported $14,652,19 in the bank.

  1. Way to go Andrew!

You seem to pound more pavement than any other candidate for office.

Will you take the county offered health insurance?

  2. LaurieJ,

If I am so lucky to be elected as a Republican candidate for County Board in District 1 – I will not take the county offered health insurance plan.

    Respectfully,

    Andrew Gasser
Republican Candidate for McHenry County Board District 1

  3. Andrew, I read in the Northwest Herald that you are waving any pension benefits and are limiting yourself to two terms??

    Is this true?

  4. From the 3 contributions listed in this post, I count zero of them from your district, let alone McHenry County.

—$2,000 from a Newt Gingerich intern turned staffer from suburban Washington, DC

—$1,000 from John (Jack) Roeser, has a long history of politics in Illinois; running against Jim Edgar, funding out-of-state “resident” Alan Keyes’ bid to represent us in the Senate, and in late 2009, Kirk’s Republican primary opponent Andy Martin quoted Roeser as saying there is a “solid rumor that Kirk is a homosexual,” costing him the support of our state’s Republican Party. It should be noted that Roeser has long crusaded against taxes and government spending, yet his Carpentersville company, Otto Engineering has been awarded 223 government defense contracts since the year 2000. These contracts have netted Otto Engineering a total of $3,955,227 according to Governmentcontractswon.com.

—–Then, there is Richard Uihlein, who rose to the top tier of right-wing financiers after the U.S. Supreme Court allowed unlimited independent political contributions with its Citizens United decision in 2010. Today some of the largest recipients of Mr. Uihlein’s money include Ted Cruz, who led a laughingly failed attempt to shut America down against the wishes of the majority of Republican legislators. Uihlein just tossed 5 large your way.

Nothing here is illegal, but local citizens who you wish to represent deserve to know just how eager these outside right-wing extremists with clearly ideological ambitions are to monetize the vote in our local community.

Will you be representing us at the County level, or serving the extreme right-wing tea party contributors nationwide who lost their last McHenry County boy, Joe Walsh?

  5. Andrew Gasser, Bob Bless does the name sound familiar Dejavu
