Republican candidate for Sheriff Bill Prim Saturday vowed to bring new resources and a new focus to the fight against human trafficking if he is elected. Prim said the speakers and presentations he observed at the Patriots United 5th had energized him and many others who attended.

  • U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-Winfield)
  • retired U.S. Rep. Donald Manzullo and
  • representatives of the anti-trafficking organization Exodus Cry

provided an overview of the problem, which is international in scope but impacts all communities.

More than one speaker referenced the anti-slavery crusade of the 19th called for today.

“I learned a great deal here today,” Prim said.

“I commend Brian Kelly, Joe Edwards and the entire Patriots United organization for their farsightedness in putting together political, business and faith leaders in one room both to hear what we’re up against and how we can attack the problem.”

Bill Prim opponent Andy Zinke left breakfast during the main presentation.

Prim noted that McHenry County and the Chicago area in general are not immune.

Chicago, with its status as a transit hub for air, rail and auto travel, ranks high among U.S. cities for involvement with the international sex trade, and McHenry County itself has seen recent raids of massage parlors and even a [Sheriff’s] Deputy Sergeant convicted of charges related to child predatory sexual acts.

“If elected, I will focus new efforts on this problem, both of an anti-vice enforcement nature, and as part of my overall push in the area of volunteerism,” Prim said.

“While we can’t immediately rein in a global scourge of this nature, we can at least begin to put our own house in order.”

Bill Prim Agenda for Human Trafficking — 14 Comments

  1. We need a Sheriff who will not stick his head in that dark place and ignore his surroundings.

With the current environment of prosecutor’s discretion at the local, state and federal levels, law enforcement becomes more and more difficult.

We need a Sheriff who will not get discouraged and turn his head to crime or warn people of pending DEA raids.

We need a Sheriff who is not afraid to speak up.

We need a Sheriff who cannot be manipulated by the established elite politicians in McHenry.

Bill Prim is needed in McHenry County.

Human trafficking has risen to sickening levels due to inept Sheriffs and successive Presidents refusing to secure our borders and ports of entry while listening to the Chamber of Commerce and the Farm Bureau who are in it for the money; while listening to well meaning ignorant liberal elements who ignorantly advocate an end to U.S. Sovereignty!

  2. That picture of Andy Zienke walking out the door during the presentation says it all.

  3. There is zero evidence of human trafficking taking place in the county.

Does he really think that harassing convenience stores that sell nudie magazines and harassing the 50 year old proprietors of oriental massage parlors will accomplish anything?

If the sheriff really has this much free time on his hands, how about layoffs to save taxpayer money instead of tilting at windmills?

  4. There were massage parlor arrests in Algonquin, Crystal Lake, McHenry and Woodstock.

  5. A little uncomfortable, there Andy, with the subject of human trafficking right here?

You say it’s not here… REALLY?

If next door in Lake County they had a huge raid including a resident of Johnsburg, it can’t or isn’t happening here?

Or were you uncomfortable at the discussion how pornography eventually leads to this evil?

Your very own Pyle who was supposed to be combating pornography, was actually DOING it, and you covered for him.

    NICE.

30 years in the federal pen, isn’t it?

Walking out in the middle of the keynote presentation, why we were all there showed a lot of “class”.

Can’t wait for the debate between you and Prim.

Will you walk out of the debate, or not show up?

That’ll speak volumes just like you walking out on Saturday.

  6. Mark: re: “There is zero evidence of human trafficking taking place in the county. ”

How do you think illegal aliens get into the country?

    Ever hear of ‘coyotes’?

I wonder if you are seeing Andy in that dark place?

  7. Let’s have some clarification here.

Not all individuals that view pornography are pedophiles or have some kind of mental deficit.

    Pornography is legal.

However, most or all pedophiles view pornography, it is usually an obsession and pornography does make their sexual issues worse…

There are studies to support that claim.

This is not a black or white issue. We have to view this objectively.

Clearly, we need to keep this in perspective as we do not want this to evolve into an unnecessary “WITCH HUNT” because of accusations, whereby peoples rights are being violated just because of an interest in pornography.

We need to consider the complete picture, with an objective view and do not want to go violate peoples rights because of beliefs or opinions.

  8. Whatsa Matter Andy, you walked out because you couldn’t face anyone in that room, when the subject of pornography was mentioned?

    You “Big Fat Coward”

By walking away when the subject was mentioned, just means that you dug that hole of yours even deeper..

At this rate, the local 150 will never be able to help you out of that hole of yours Andy.

You might as well build an elevator down there.

Better yet, just go bury your head in the sand, and please for everyones sake, do not come up for air.

No one wants to hear from you.

Again, and again, you continue to make a mockery of yourself and that thing you call a campaign…

    Stupid is as stupid does.

    And, You went to college?

    Yikes!

Now, Now, Andy don’t you be getting any ideas from Bill Prim, just because he knows how to run a campaign and is clearly a “CLASS ACT”

Too little, too late, for any positive social role models in your life.

Gosh, we can only hope that once you lose the election, that Nygren will at least rent out a room for you at the Florida Nygren Hotel.

Because once you lose the election, you will be too embarrassed to show your face around these parts.

And, I don’t foresee anyone welcoming you here in Mchenry County…

  9. Knowledge – can you really be that naive???

    Yes, it is happening.

We do not live in Mayberry.

Remember the heroin is running ramped.

When asked what the biggest problem was for the Sheriff’s Office, the answer was TRAFFIC.

This is while the heroin deaths and use is radically on the rise HERE IN MCHENRY COUNTY..

When you have the drug problem, it is here because of the type of people selling it here have NO scruples.

    All the rest follows.

  10. mchenry county combine watcher, you are so right on . . .

McHenry County has had this problem for a good while, but there are those who believe the Regime.

Where there are drugs there is prostitution.

Follow the money, who is benefiting from this kind of traffic?

  11. Anotherwatcher, you are absolutely correct when you stated that “where there are drugs there is prostitution” and among other illegal activities.

This is why Undersheriff Andrew Zinke had formed the Heroin Task Force that will also lead them to these illegal activities.

Also, I think the reason why Undersheriff Andrew Zinke left the breakfast during the main presentation is because he is already on top of it and does not have the time to listen to nonsense from people that are clueless.

  12. ‘Fukoku” My oh my, arrogance at it’s finest. –>”Also, I think the reason why Undersheriff Andrew Zinke left the breakfast during the main presentation is because he is already on top of it and does not have the time to listen to nonsense from people that are clueless”

That is what candidates are suppose to do “Listen to the people” no matter how mundane it may seem to them. He as all the answers?

    Now that is dangerous.
