In commenting on the District 1 candidates, the Daily Herald writes, “…all see a need for transportation improvements and oppose the continuous flow intersection planned for Randall and Algonquin roads…”

But, while telling the Daily Herald interviewers he opposed the Continuous Flow Intersection, Nowak voted for it.

Read what he told the Daily Herald and what he said on the Board floor here.

You can tell that the Daily Herald has stopped covering the McHenry County Board.

Daily Herald Issues Endorsements for County Board — 6 Comments

  1. I really find Dist 5 interesting.

Let’s see, Jung “longtime incumbant” (a real dull blade)

Met him and not the least bit impressed.

Rein – “admits he is in need of a learning curve”.

Seipler – “passionate about public service and reasoned stance on many issues”

Looks to me like Seipler is the best choice.

  2. Re District 1 endorsements, the Daily Herald wrote that all 3 candidates “oppose the continuous flow intersection planned for Randall and Algonquin roads”.

The “experienced” sitting Board Member then went on to vote “yes” to the CFI shortly after the Daily Herald interview was conducted.

In his almost 4 years on the McHenry County Board, he has never voted “no’ on any motion before the Board.

Has the Daily Herald ever rescinded an endorsement?

Though lacking “experience” as County Board Members, both Andrew Gasser and David Stieper are more knowledgeable about the issues facing McHenry County and will serve the County better than the “status quo” “experienced” yes candidate.

  3. I wonder what The Daily Herald’s circulation is in McHenry County?

It has to be a very low number.

They sure don’t do their homework.

  4. Circulation in McHenry County is broad and can be assured the Daily Harold does it homework.

This is why we need David Stieper and Andrew Gasser on the McHenry County Board.

  5. Daily Herald may not have endorsed Seipler… But, they sure did a great job selling him!

I live in district 5 and the Daily Herald is telling me that I have choice between a “Chiropracter who, himself, states that he is need of a learning curve” – or a “passionate Public Servant who takes reasoned stances on many issues and has a history of fighting corruption”?????

Seems to me the choice is clear… at least between these two candidates.

Thank you, Daily Herald for helping form my decision!

  6. It is tiring to see the media continually endorse Candidates because of their “experience”.

The residents of McHenry County can no longer afford “experience” to represent their best interests on this Board.

I prefer “passionate” and “reasoned stance” over “experience”!

What matters is that Zane Seipler, Republican Primary Candidate for McHenry County Board – District 5, receive the “endorsement” by voters on March 18, 2014.
