  1. The police were called because a lady was wandering the street not knowing who she was or where she lived.

Not sure if that was this incident.

    Why not Huntley police?

    Strange comment from the police…

  2. I honestly hope nothing horrible happened, but @Jim B you made me laugh out loud.

  3. Concerned. Huntley is within McHenry Co and the Sheriff routinely is called to assist local police dept’s .

Anyway I believe that Hemmer Rd north of a Sun City is still unincorporated.

If all the Huntley cars were tied up,mthey ask MCSO for extra help.

  4. Wow. Post a couple pro Zinke comments and you get sent to “your comment is awaiting moderation” purgatory .

HUNTLEY – An 84-year-old woman was found dead in the snow Saturday after apparently walking away from her Huntley home.

Around 10:30 a.m., a passerby alerted police to the body on the 11000 block of Hemmer Road, roughly 100 yards outside the Del Webb subdivision, according to McHenry County Undersheriff Andy Zinke. The Kane County coroner’s office released the woman’s name – Bodil Becker, of the 11000 block of Evergreen Lane in Huntley – Monday afternoon.

An autopsy was performed with preliminary findings of pending further studies, according to a news release from the coronoer’s office.

She was found wearing a nightgown and shoes, and appeared to have been crawling in the snow, Zinke said. She appeared to have succumbed to the elements, he said.

Upon discovering the body, the sheriff’s office put out a reverse 911 call and received a call a short time later from a man who hadn’t seen his mother.

The victim also appeared to have suffered from dementia, Zinke said.

“In this bad, cold weather, it’s important to check on your elderly family members to make sure they are safe,” Zinke said.
