“Valley Hi Public/Private Partnership Opportunities” are an agenda item on the March 12th  meeting of the McHenry County Board’s Public Health and Human Services Committee.

Just last night at the League of Women Voters’ County Board candidates’ forum, District 1 candidate David Stieper brought up the subject.

He said he wondered if it were the “proper function of county government” to provide nursing home services.

Stieper also questioned whether it is proper for the County Board to be sitting on $8 million in a “liquidity account.”

“When the bonds were paid off, they kept collecting the tax,” he said.

Joe Gottemoller noted that voters had approved a referendum for Valley Hi ten years ago.

Perhaps Stieper will attend the meeting next Wednesday and give his views in a governmental setting.
