Yesterday, I wrote of the candidates seeking to be elected to the ruling body of the Illinois Republican Party. (See here and here.)
It’s called the Illinois State Central Committee.
Its members are called State Central Committeemen.
Every precinct committeeman, township committeeman and ward committeeman gets to cast the same number of Republican votes which were put in the ballot box on Primary Election Day for State Central Committee in their Congressional District.
The candidates for the 6th Congressional District, which runs from Wheaton to the middle of Crystal Lake (the lake) and whose residents are represented by Peter Roskam in Congress, follow:
- Brian Colgan, Naperville
- Aaron Del Mar, Palatine
- David Diersen, Wheaton
- Lynda Filipello, Lisle
- Richard “Dick” Furstenau, Naperville
- Mark Stern, Oak Brook
Wednesday, I ran a story about Mark Stern’s email asking me and other committeemen to support him.
The same day, the Chicago Sun-Times ran one entitled,
County GOP chair’s nasty divorce on display
The story’s link is here.
Del Mar is Palatine Township Republican Committeeman. Apparently Palatine Township is in the 6th Congressional District, because Del Mar is listed as a candidate for State Central Committeeman.
Cal, this is the 6th district, not 16th!
Manzullo’s old district, where I live, was the 16th. Apparently haven’t made the transition yet.
