Terry Elk, McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi’s defense attorney, took on the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office over its repeated strip searching of those arrested.

LaSalle County decided to settle, rather than go to trial.

The total settlement was $355,000.

LaSalle County has already drafted new and improved written policies to prevent a repeat of the illegal stripping.

All video tapes will be maintained for 2 years.

The criminal prosecution is still on-going and is being handled by Jason Hammond, the State’s Attorney Attorney of Grundy County.
