The Illinois Department of Transportation is holding a hearing in Woodstock on Wednesday about how Route 47 should be improved. The details are below:

aPRIL 16, 2010 rOUTE 47 head-on crash between two cars. It is unclear if the truck with the blue trailer was involved or is just blocking the road to prevent others from piling into the wreck.
The third public meeting for the IL 47 Phase I Study will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Challenger Learning Center, 222 Church Street, Woodstock, Illinois from 4 – 7 PM.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the project Purpose and Need, proposed alternatives, and obtain public input.
Proposed alternatives to be presented consist of widening and reconstruction of IL 47 to provide for additional through and turning lanes, barrier curb median, potential improvements to bicycle and pedestrian systems, and intersection alternatives including roundabouts.
Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously.
Project team members will be present to discuss the project and to answer questions. Written comments will be accepted at the meeting, can be mailed after the meeting, or submitted through the project website.
Comments received by July 23, 2014 will become part of the official public meeting record.
