This was found stuck to the sidewalk after the Independence Day Parade in Crystal Lake, but not this year, because there was no entry.

There are precious few who filed a petition with ten signatures and were elected, as you can see below. The number in parentheses represents those voting in the March Democratic Primary Election.

They call themselves “precinct representatives,” but the title on the ballot is Precinct Committeeman for the Democratic Party.

Democratic Party Precinct Committeemen Elected in 2014 — 8 Comments

  1. Democrat or not, Bob Barton is a good man and is generous as a volunteer with non-political organizations too.

A little competition is healthy anyway.

  2. Quit looking at democrat or republican, look at issues.

For those staunch republicans in mchenry county what are they doing about our high property taxes?

Why are so many storefronts still empty?

If they are supposed to be good businessmen why aren’t more businesses opening up.

Most jobs in McHenry County pay less than $12 per hour unless you are a public servant, like teacher, police, fire, politician.

The two parties want to add labels so people vote against their interests.

Republicans and democrats should insist on buy American for any government expenditure.

It might be cheaper to buy from China but we are financing our country away when China can buy our country.

  3. karma – what are the Dems doing for Illinois??

We are rated below Michigan and cannot get much lower.

    Hello, Detroit.

  4. Probably there are a small number of people that can bring about whatever they want in the humanities.

    Democracy has to work.

  5. To Old Man Winter and Old Timer,

What exactly what are either of you doing to affect change? Nothing is mentioned in your comments.

You seem critical I wonder if, in fact, you are active or simply more of the complainers.

For whatever your opinion of their politics these are 30 people who have assumed responsibility and agreed to work toward furthering a participatory democracy.

The two party system is awkward, democracy is messy, complaining serves only to embitter, create cynicism and develop an attitude allowing those entrenched in power to become corrupt.

Working for change is a positive thing, whether you agree with the change or not.
