So, what’s going on?
Will people be able to talk, as they were told they could at the last meeting, or not?
Chris Christensen, one of the leaders of the opposition penned this email today:
“We made a mistake and we are trying to correct that mistake…..We want time to address all the concerns from the community and that is going to take time. Now we know all the concerns. We were guessing before.”
Conrad Anderson from what was printed in the Northwest Herold.
Respectably Mr. Anderson, you were given 2 open houses and 2 ½ hours at a Zoning meeting to sell your bill of goods.
We were given less than 90 minutes to respond; how dare you tell us you have heard all of our concerns!
We have not even scratched the surface!
Mr. Anderson, we are organized, we are growing and frankly, you pissed us off.
I should also mention you pissed off a large part of Crystal Lake, Cary and Prairie Grove.
You may have ended a politician’s career.
Hopefully two.
Things like the safety of our children and our homes are not a “guess” to us.
They are real; as real as a growing Facebook following or a GoFundMe account or an e-mail list.
We are a part of something special Mr. Anderson and we look forward to seeing you soon; whether that’s tomorrow night at the Holiday Inn or next Thursday, August 7th at the Oakwood Hills Board Meeting or October 9th or whenever you choose to come back.
We will bring our friends and neighbors.
We will wear red because we don’t “guess”; we know we are in this fight together.
Neighbors still help neighbors here.
Friends still come to your aid when you call.
We are part of something special, Mr. Anderson and I believe sir, you simply guessed wrong.
We will see you Thursday at 6:30 PM!
Can’t thank you enough Cal for helping get the word out on this.
I hope that the support of Rep. McSweeney and Sen. Duffy will convince the developers that it’s time to walk away on this one. If they come back in October we’ll have thousands of supporters.
Until then, the red ribbons will stay up.
