I drove to Woodstock Sunday to see the Stop Randall Road Robbery display on the Square.

The volunteers wearing the yellow shirts immediately brought to mind the tee shirts those supporting Jim Harrison wear.
As I approached I thought I saw shirts of people supporting Jim Harrison’s Independent candidacy for McHenry County Sheriff.
Getting closer, I realized the Town Square Players had chosen pretty much the same visible color scheme as Harrison.

There was musical entertainment all afternoon. I think it was Suzy Schwartz whose magnificent voice dominated the park after the choir.
I walked around looking for the Randall Road banner.
I passed a puppet of the plant from the Little Shop of Horrors.
You know, the one who says, “Feed me. FEED ME!”

There were all sorts of attractions for kids. This one had plastic ducks in a pan that I think led to prizes.
There were lots of activities for kids.
Finally I found the tent I was looking for.

A Wonder Lake Town Square Player was engaged in policy discussions with the woman educating people about the McHenry County Board’s $135 million three and a half mile plan for improving Randall Road.
Algonquin Township Auditor Larry Emery, a Town Square Player due to be eaten by the plant in the Little Shop of Horrors, stopped by to help out.
The company filming a movie in Woodstock around 20 years ago cut down a bunch of large trees in the town square.
