McHenry County College Seeks Applicants to Replace Tom Wilbeck

McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE BOARD SEEKS NEW TRUSTEE TO SERVE THROUGH APRIL 2015

With Tom Wilbeck’s resignation, a replacement must be appointed.

[Tuesday, September 9, 2014.Crystal Lake, IL] The McHenry County College (MCC) Board of Trustees has an immediate opening for a new Board member. According to the Illinois Public Community College Act-whether filling a vacancy or running for election-all candidates for the position must meet the following eligibility requirements. A candidate must be:

  • A U.S. Citizen
  • A resident of the community college district (MCC District #528)
  • At least 18 years of age

The Board invites all who are interested in serving as trustee to submit the following information no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014:

  1. Cover Letter, including answers to the following questions:
  • Why are you interested in filling the trustee vacancy at McHenry County College, and what would you like to accomplish during your time as a trustee?
  • What relevant experience do you believe you have that would make you a good candidate for a trustee?

After the application deadline, a meeting of the Board will be conducted, at which time Trustees will select the individuals to be interviewed. Once those interviews are conducted, a final candidate will be selected. The new trustee, once appointed, will fill the position through the April 2015 election. If interested, that person may stand for election in April 2015 to serve a full term.

Currently, the MCC Board of Trustees includes: Ron Parrish, Chair, Woodstock; Linda Liddell, Vice Chair, Crystal Lake; Molly Walsh, Secretary, Crystal Lake; Chris Jenner, Cary; Cynthia Kisser, Wonder Lake; Mary Miller, Crystal Lake; and student trustee Justin Peters, McHenry.
